1. Sealing Agent (hylomar) is located where the rotor housings seat against the iron end housings and where the tension bolts seat against the rear iron.

2. I don't know (don't have the FSM). I recommend mineral spirits (paint thinner)

3. Mineral spirits

4. Mineral Spirits

5. Warpage is when a part is twisted and not flat. The FSM probably directs you to check the iron end housings and rotor housings for warpage. You take a precision straight-edge and lay it against the flat parts with a feeler guage under it.

6. If you mean checking the end play of the eccentric shaft on the assembled engine, yes, you can use a feeler guage (Haynes manual goes into this in detail).

7. You can get the stationary gears used for cheap on this forum in the parts for sale section, or on ebay.

8. The Atkins kit does not come with rotor bearings. Atkins does carry the rotor and main bearings separately. I am sure there are other places that can get these (Mazdatrix for example).

Hope this helps. I will soon be reassembling my own rebuilt engine

the best stuff to clean the rotors is parts dip. Just put one or both rotors in there and let them soak for a fiew days. Everything else use carb cleaner or mineral spirits.

yeah, the parts dip stuff (find it in the gallon containers at most auto parts stores) and carb/brake cleaner.

Don't use that stuff inside a garage with a gas water heater or gas forced air house heater though!

Go to your local machineshop and have them clean the parts with their Ultra/sub-sonic parts cleaner, we have one at work and it rocks.

How do you check end play with a feeler gauge? Answer: You don't
You need a dial indicator, prefrably with a base of some sort.

Chemdip is the Chemical I used, it can be purchased in a nice 5 gallon container at Schucks.
