I'm choking!
Hey all, my choke on my 90 RX7 doesnt work at all. So which of I'm sure many of you had problems with it doesnt engage when car is cold so idle isnt steady when the vehicle is cold. This causes vehicle to stall out on me. When she warms up the revs hold nicely. Any help anyone could give me would be great!
Thanks

There are a couple things that happen when starting cold. One is a thermovalve on the throttle body get pushed out to hold the throttle open at around 1400 RPM, the BAC also allows extra air in for the first half minute, and the AWS dumps even more air into the intake for the first 15 or so seconds.
There is no Choke persay.
It is common to loose the thermovalve if the Throttle body mod has been done on the car. That is the first thing I would be looking at.

when im driving the car if im in gear and i throw it in neutral the revs will drop all the way down to a 100 then recover and idle at 500
or she will either drop and hit 750 and stop there for like 1/4 sec and go down to 500

The dashpot is supposed to 'cushion' the throttle when it's released abruptly, so perhaps yours needs adjusting.
Have you adjusted your TPS? If not, do it. If so, did you make absolutely certainly that the throttle was fully closed? A bad fast idle thermovalve thingy can hold it on the fast idle cam, which holds the throttle open slightly. Also check to make sure there is the appropriate amount of slack in both the main and cruise control throttle cables.
If you adjust the TPS with the throttle being held open even slightly, then the idle control system gets royalling f'ed up because it isn't expecting any air to be coming through the throttle body
