Talking Im board and wondering Garrett turbo off a deisel truck would it work on a FC????

Im board at work and Iv been staring at this Turbo on a deisel engine in the junkyard across from me for a while now, Its just sitting there all i can see is its pretty big and it says garrett on it. I was wondering whats the differance in a turbo off a deisel truck and a car and could it work on a FC s4 T2????
Ill try and post a pic of it a lil later.

people use diesel turbos on FCs, but i dont know all the specs. borg warner, schwitzer, john deere, holeset.... see how cheap it is and pick it up. chances are you'll want to rebuild it.

junkyard turbos are a gamble. Odds are that thing is trashed from water.

depends on the turbo. check it over for any cracks. If their are cracks anywhere, youll have a nice center piece but that is about it.

the only hard part about that would be getting a turbo man. to fit it, but who knows, if you could get it for like 100 i would think about it. if all else fails, just get someone to cut you one and weld it on to a ebay mans. they sell old trust turbo manifolds on there all the time.

Pick up the turbo. First, measure the length and width of the turbine inlet flange. Then take off the compressor housing/cover and measure the compressor wheel inducer and exducer. Then take off the turbine housing and measure the inducer and exducer of the turbine wheel. Let us know those measurements and we can tell you if the turbo will work on our engines. Most likely it is a T4 turbo (since most large diesel engines seem to use similar sized turbos) and should quite work well on our engines... but who knows until you actually take those measurements
