don't know about reviews on this one but I come across it alot

I use the Jacobs now. I can say that with the writeups online its plenty easy to install
. I can't say that it's the best though. Check out Ted's site at http://www.fc3spro.com/TECH/MODS/IGN/cdi.htm.
Good luck!

Crane HI6 or similar and NGK 9s all the way around.
A member here is running this setup on a TII with fuel mods, a hybrid turbo and a RTEK 2.0 i believ. He told me that the Crane made his car run a hell of a lot smoother but did not notice a power gain (butt dyno)
Dont know which crane either but i cant imagine theres much of a diffrence if you get the one for our cars or go with the newer model.

Yeah I'm not looking for a power gain really. I just want it to run smoother, I get a lot of ignition break up and it drives me crazy!
I'm either going with the Crane HI6 or Jacobs. I gues the Jacobs used to be expensive but it's cheaper than the Crane now.

Really, I read reted's write-up and it doesn't say anything about the Jacobs besides the price. Thats why I am asking on here. I also looked both up and compared, I want some real world applications. Isn't that what a forum is for?
I've yet to see anybody provide convincing evidence of gains that would justify spending all that money. Running "a little bit smoother" is just not good enough. The money saved from the small gains in fuel economy that some claim would probably take years to pay off the purchase price.
If you're having bad ignition break-up, fix the problem that's causing it. It's not normal!

pretty well said....
i agree with NZ, i have seen plenty of people running up into the 400RWHP range with little ignition breakup, so long as the spark plug heat range is tuned properly to the output of the engine and the components are in good working order you should not even feel breakup at all, you may still see it a tiny bit on the dyno but if you are feeling it then you have a problem with an ignition system component.
Yeah it wasn't ignition breakup after all my boost sensor is screwed up and it leans out the fuel for no reason sometimes at cruise.
I capped the vacuum hose to the boost sensor and capped the boost sensor so it was reading atmospheric pressure. Then I leaned out my s-afc accordingly (temporarily to check). Now I finnaly get a nice even AFR at cruise. Before it would jump around like hell. So I need another boost sensor anyone got one for a 87TII?
Anyone have a problem like this?
