Ignition switch not getting 12v.

So im having trouble with my 87 rx7 where the ignition switch has no 12v going to it. interior fuse box has 12v but when key turns to on none of the switched 12v turn on. main relay is not blown and has 12v and when I take a wire directly from the battery to the white and red wire for the ignition switch everything works as it should. Also i started the car around 3 months ago and everything worked as normal and it has been sitting in my garage since and I haven't touched it until yesterday.
any help is appreciated thank you.

Did you check the 40A fuse in the main fuse box under the hood? The S4 wiring diagram shows that the B/G wire from that 40A fuse goes directly to the ignition switch.

Do you have an alarm system? Some factory cars came with one and it could be causing the issue you are having.
