Ignition ?'s

I was looking into upgrading my ignition and I had a few questions. First, what kind of benifits are there of a new ignition. Second, if I was going to redo the ignition, is it worth it to just do the ignition alone or should I do plugs/wires and such? What brands would you recommend on a budget? Lastly, is it worth the $$ or should it be spent on something else? Thanks again.

Thanks, that helped with some of my ?'s, but is it worth the $$, where can I get some decently priced units, and should I redo the wires/plugs as well?

I personally don't believe it is worth the money, but there are some (including Ted) that would argue with me about that.

Either way, don't just do one part of the system. Upgrade the wires at the same time you install a CDI box, and a new set of plugs can't hurt.

Hmm....well i'm not really bent on getting one of these now, just keeping it as one of those things to add on to the end of the list, but if I did decide to get one, what would be the best brand? MSD 6A seems to come up a lot, but which version of that should I get? Theres the PN6200 or the PN6420, whats the difference and which one should I use?

I don't know anything about the MSD products (never researched them)...Basically, most CDI boxes are pretty much the same...I'm running the Crane HI-6...You only need the most basic box. Rev limiters, timing retard and other features are unusable on our ignition systems.
