The next stupid question i have is... What exactly does putting in a nice expensive ignition do... Up until recently i was under the impression that it just started the car.... Please dont make fun of me... just keep in mind that eventually i will run out of parts to ask about

Dude I don't want to sound like a dick but there is a search function. I beleive the ignition system provides the voltage for the plugs to fire. I guess more spark means better running car since the fuel is burned better.
