Ignition packs

Are they worth it? Jacobs, Mallory ect? If so then in what environment are they most usefull? Stock, medium mod, heavy mod?

I have heard they make the idle a lot smoother and increase gas milage. But we have very good stock ignition systems, so its not very high on my list.

I've heard this too, maybe you guys can clear this up for me though. The packs don't need to be replaced but a control box ( say Jacobs or MSD) is still important when tuning for higher boost, right? What about when using a stand-alone unit like the Halteh's or Microtech, would these just control and tune your ignition curve or can they actually help you produce more "spark" per say. Just wanna clear some things up.
