Ignition fuse/relay question

Hey I was wondering knew if there was a fuse or relay for the ignition system. Like when you turn the key to on, my car has no power to anything(radio doesn't turn on, windows don't work, turbo timer doesn't even turn on). But my car has power, alarm, hazards, anything having to do without the ignition works. So is there a fuse or relay which I can change to put power back into it, or is it a bigger problem? Any help would be appreciated, and I drive a 87 T2. Thanks in advanced.

Sounds like Maybe the ignition switch is on the blink. Sometimes if I turn mine all the way till it stops everything goes off untill I let off a hair.

Hey thanks for the answer Icemark. I didn't know the MAIN fuse was the one. But I visually checked it and it wasn't blown. So any other ideas on what might be wrong? When I put the key in and turn it to on, it makes a quick beep kind of sound like it has power, but then cuts off and nothing ever turns on. If you have any ideas, let me hear it so I can check it out. Cars been out for two weeks just cause of this haha. But thanks in advanced again.

100% sure. Everything else works. All lights don't even show sign of flicker when the beep cuts. Plus I tried jumping and I still didn't have power going on =). More in depth of what happened was, we were trying to fix my burnt headlight switch harness and we cut the W/G wire since that was what was burnt. It MIGHT have touched metal while opened, because it burnt out my ILLUM fuse. But I don't know if that is supposed to effect anything, but that is all we did. Could this be a big a serious big problem?

Does the starter turn over? No? Then get your meter out and chech the pure black wire that is on one of your ignition switch leads. The pure black wire leading TO the ignition switch connectors. No 12vdc voltage? Then the circuit is open b/t the ignition switch and the engine fuse box. Check the connectors around the engine fuse box.

The ignition switch leads are about a foot from the key, under the dash.

My starter doesn't turn, no power on key on or starting. But yeah I'll check that out over the weekend probably. I'll update if it works or not, hopefully it will. But thanks for the help so far.

If you get no action of any kind when the key is put to START, then go to the fuse box in the engine. About a half foot to a foot below the engine fuse box is a single black wire mating with another single black wire. It has a spade connector. See if it's been pulled apart.

That wire feeds the ignition key.

Other items in the car will work normal with that wire disconnected because they are fed from another source of power.

I'm too disinterested to list those items that are/are not fed by ignition switch etc.
