what up fellas, heres the deal

my car is a 90 vert running an s4 trans. ran perfect until the snycros went out. replaced the trans with a s5 gxl trans. since then start up hasnt been holding 3k rpm. and during warm up the cold start idle is bouncing like it has a vacum leak.

question? do wires on trans affect the running process?

Sounds to me like your neutral switch isn't wired properly. This switch will disable the 3K rpm cold start crap if the car isn't in neutral. I would suggest checking this/fixing it, and then once the car is fully warmed up, adjust your throttle position sensor (or simply verify it's set properly), if it is and you've still got a bouncey idle (once fully warm, or it won't idle normally at 750 rpm), start looking for vacuum leaks.

not having the 3k cold start is a bad thing, but I understand the point behind this, just do as SonicRat said. lsx257, do you live in the eastbay, saw a black vert with s5 tails getting off of 238 the other week.

ill double check my wire connections b/c one of them came with out a connector and had to be butconnected. it seems like a neutral safety issue b/c when i push the clutch in on a warm up the idle balances out.

thanks sonic

i dont think i drove 238 for a while unless going out to altamont speedway. but my tails are led that look like a lowered semi truck.

First of all the cold start thing is very very bad and it would be best to remove it as soon as possible. Why would anyone think that rvving a cold engine to 3k while injecting corrosive fluid is a good idea.
Second of all going by his sig he doesnt even have a rotary in there so the cold start thing is irrelivant. But as for the answer to the actual question, I would follow Sonics advice.
