Ied like to ask a question about Automatics in drag racing.

Ok i dont know how in hell this works, i know ill need a custom driveshaft and custom toqure converter, but dave lemon of mazda trix told me you can take an 86 automatic bell housing and put a ford C4 guts inside up and grind out and clearence issues and redrill some holes, and add a b&m shifter system. has anyone done this and can give me a write up on it?

I know that you can bolt up a th350 with the proper bell housing, i have seen them for sale, but i dont know much about it. It seems like it would be killer for bracket racing,

thats exactly what im looking for, when i talked to dave lemon he said a custom toqure converter cost like $500-$600 so its not to much outa the pocket, man i cant wait till im 16 then i can get a damn job lol.

why go through the hassle?

if you need an auto trans that can take the punishment of a turbo car it's probably easier to just get an auto trans from a jspec.. they can be had REALLY cheaply because nobody wants them..

are you swapping a manual to an auto on an N/A or hoping up an automatic on a TII? Because if it's an N/A the stock Auto tranny with a torque converter would be fine.

I'd do the T350. Cheap to buy, cheap to rebuild and they're proven.

were on earth can i get a T350, as you can see i made that post awhile back, now i can hold my own with an auto.
