Ied like to ask a question about Automatics in drag racing.

Ok i dont know how in hell this works, i know ill need a custom driveshaft and custom toqure converter, but dave lemon of mazda trix told me you can take an 86 automatic bell housing and put a ford C4 guts inside up and grind out and clearence issues and redrill some holes, and add a b&m shifter system. has anyone done this and can give me a write up on it?

I know that you can bolt up a th350 with the proper bell housing, i have seen them for sale, but i dont know much about it. It seems like it would be killer for bracket racing,

why go through the hassle?

if you need an auto trans that can take the punishment of a turbo car it's probably easier to just get an auto trans from a jspec.. they can be had REALLY cheaply because nobody wants them..

are you swapping a manual to an auto on an N/A or hoping up an automatic on a TII? Because if it's an N/A the stock Auto tranny with a torque converter would be fine.

I'd do the T350. Cheap to buy, cheap to rebuild and they're proven.
