Idling really weird!

Ok, when I'm driving its idles hella weird. When I'm driving for like 20 minutes straight and then come to a stop it idles very low around 500 rpms, and then I rev the engine and then it goes up 1k. then I start driving again, and when I stop again it starts idling at 750.... And I keep hearing putt putt putt, like it wants to die. What could be the reasons for it idling at different ranges through out a drive?

I may be wrong, but if the idle is changing it could either be the TPS or the BAC valve.

1. Check vacuum hoses for fraying/splitting. Had a tube (broken) going to a solenoid that was causing the car to die when it would warm up.

2. Check tps & bac with multimeter. http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/articles/idle.html

3. Check grounding connections. Clean them up, pack with dielectric grease. It can make a difference.

I also wonder how clean your injectors are.
Have you ever changed your fuel filter?

Me and my mechanic are going to look at the vacuum hoses pretty soon, hopefully today or tomorrow... Fuel filter I haven't changed yet.

I have the same problem and I there's a smell of gas coming from around the fuel injectors... so I'm thinking they need to be cleaned/changed. Either that or see if you can adjust the TPS.
