idles rough and dies after revving...wtf?
ok, so i have an 88 SE, 5speed. and for a while, my dad and cousin couldnt figure out how to get my car started. so i hooked up the intake elbow at the TB and started it. so its running, and it seems to be rough, and shaking like it has a miss.
i got in it and revved it up, and it revved just fine. but it backfires when i let off, more than EVER. i would rev it to 7000, and POP POP POP POP POP. before i put it away for winter, it would pop ONCE as soon as i let off the throttle, now its just shootin off like crazy. on top of this, as soon as the rpms fall back down, it will DIE unless i keep revving it. but i cant really come to a stop light and be revving the engine like an idiot.
any ideas whats going on w/ my car??? im clueless

aside from bad compression, or a bad primary ignition system, is the ground from the lower intake to the firewall hooked up and in good shape? i had an 86 before i got my 91, and it didnt run well unless that ground was hooked up. it grounds the injectors.

guess ill have to check that. does having it disconnected prevent the injectors from firing like they should?
cuz it seems as if the injectors are Open, and it floods out. after it stalled, i ran the battery down trying to de-flood it, and didnt get it running again.
nothing happend where the wire would have come undone, but, nonetheless, ill check that tomm.
thanks
