Idles great once warmed up....cold, it'll die

-car idles and runs great after about 5-10 mins of running.
-will not idle cold, but if I start the car hot or if the engine held any heat it idles fine on start up.
-I raise the rpm to keep it running on cold start up
-s4 na
-factory ecu

-all hoses have been replaced with silicone (no vacuum leaks)
-secondary throttles with thermowax intact (have not adjusted cold cam yet)
-egr blocked
-acv deleted
-no bac valve (car has no ac or ps)
-cold start assist deleted
-rats nest deleted
-tps set perfectly via ohm method
-idle set at 1200rpms
-omp deleted, running Pre mix
-have adjusted fast idle
-5th and 6th ports intact
-pineapple racing street port
-racing beat road race header, no cats
-new plugs
-good wires but not new
-timing has issues, but could only get 5/5 and not the 5/20 per manual (haven't solved this issue yet...maybe tdc is slightly off?)
-even with the timing issues, car runs very good except the idle issue.

Engine has 800 miles since rebuild w/Atkins kit, replaced every seal, spring, gasket...only housings, rotors, eccentric, etc...hard parts reused.
-110 psi on front and rear before break in

I have searched, car runs great...just wont idle cold. Any suggestions would be great

The car has to run at a lower idle speed to set the timing for the timing advances when the idle speed is around 1200rpm or so.

welcome to the club of a stripped n/a not running right, for nothing. adjust out your thermowax screw and hope it does the trick(have fun guessing on the n/a thermowax settings. throttle body has to be removed to adjust it reinstall, verify, rinse and repeat).

Come on man, it's a nice exclusive club, were taking apps for new members jk lol. I was suspecting the thermowax, didn't want to mess with it cause its a pita to adjust....may remove it...it'll make the club happy :p

Thanks for your help.

I'll go back and lower my base idle and recheck my timing.

I had the same issue. PO stripped the throttle body, took off all the fast idle stuff. After spending hours upon hours trying to figure it out, I went and got a low mileage working unit with all the stock stuff on it and have never had an issue since. Hot start however.. Still dealing with that.

PUT THE BAC VALVE BACK
At least you left the thermowax on there, but it's probably mal-adjusted. Nobody learns do they...
You gained like... 78HP from all those "mods" right?!

Yea coolant temp sensor on mine wasn't plugged in. Had to keep it at 2000 for about a minute on cold start. Then rough idle till it warmed up. Thought it was just cause I hadn't got the cold start set up on my microtech lt8 but as soon as I plugged it in it started by itself and idled fine.
