too bad no one can help me, i got problems with my car too, major major running rich, stumbles, soo rich i can't go up hills, soo rich i have to apply gas twice to WOT to let it rev to 2.5k, so rich mr.bling bling himself look broke..i just got no money to replace, and my lowest TPS resistance is 1.30 i can't get it any down than that and i did tha TB mod, no dead spots though, AFM was tampered, don't know about my thermo switch/ecu is messed up or not, no time no money for this 16 year old.

and now that my friend just got his 10th ae, i've been trying to work on both cars, with so little time, he has hot stalls and smells like raw fuel when hood is popped (flooded). hopefully this saturday it doesn't rain (san francisco) so i can finally work on the cars..

thermo sensor is what i'm trying to point out its on passenger side of the alternator, and little bit down.

-fc3s-pro.com
water thermo sensor (for the ECU) tells the ECU the temperature of the coolant; coolant temperature is a good indicator of engine temperature. There are many thermo sensors on the engine, but the ECU water thermo sensor is located on the backside of the water pump housing right under the alternator. It's a pretty large sensor with a secure plug and clip. Failure of the water thermo sensor will cause the ECU to run very rich.

do u have ur airpump removed? if u do just walk out and take a look at ur engine bay, look in the back of the alternator and go down u should see a sensor, the wire harness of the thermo sensor looks like the BAC harness.

Its where the arrow is pointing on the backside of the water pump housing. Rectangular/square looking. Maybe green/blue in color. Couple of wires.

Ok guys, I took my car to MZM International in Austin, TX today.... Nice knowledgeable folks :-) Anyway, the TPS was out of adjustment 4.5 turns!! A few weeks ago, while enroute to the West Coast, I took it to the Mazda dealer in Lafayette, La, after getting what I believe was some bad fuel. It also started bucking really bad at low rpm's. Seems the dealer didn't know what the heck they were doing, and that's when it lost the cold idle began surging up and down. Also, the air funnel tube/hose was not properly connected to the air box, and didn't have the 4-screws bolted in; therefore, the engine wasn't getting filtered air.

Once both problems were corrected, she's back up and running right. Now, I can get the heck outta Texas, and back home to Florida. Hope this will be helpful to someone else. Thanks for the insight!! :-)

Mine did the same thing for MONTHS!!! I was ready to sell it! Finally I found the right combination of TPS and hard idle screw. Mine would go from 1100-1700...over and over and over!!!

I finally screwed with it enough to find the right combo and got it stopped!
I also removed my BAC

hard idle screw? which one is that? is it the one by the TPS that has the nut onto of it?

and i was thinking about removing my BAC... i think its letting too much air in (when my accessories are OFF) it clicks like it is supposed to, but i dont think it works correctly anyways...
