idle/ stall problem

my car is a 90 automatic non turbo. when i start the car, (which takes some playing with the throttle) it idles at about 1450 rpm. when i shift into gear, i boggs down an dstalls if i dont drive with both feet. at first i thought it was a fuel problem (based on the fact i have to work the gas to get it to start.) i cleaned the injectors, replaced the fuel filter and pump. still have the same problem. realigned the cas, timed the car which made it run like crap for 3 mins, then it jumped time and ran fine, high, but fine (no sputtering) then i removed the intake and replaced a broken vaccum check valve and replaced the water thermo valve (which has 3 prongs because of the a/t) i also have cruise control which has another vaccum line coming off of it. when i remove the vaccum lines on the water thermo valve while the car is running, nothing happens. im starting to think i messed up the lines going in and out of the water thermo valve. but i cant find a good vaccum diagram, (i know i know search, and i did) am i on to something or am i way off.
thanks for any help...
