Idle problems and hesitation, time for a AFPR?

hi, my TII is setup as it says in my signature, and i got done doing the rats nest (all new vac lines) removal and fired it up after tinkering with the starter. It starts easily and starts to about 1700rpm and then drops smoothly (still running) and dies. I can keep it runing buy puting my foot in the throtle, but if i give it a quick burp of more then 1/2 to 1/3 throtle it hesitates untill i lift the throttle up above 1/2 to 1/3 and then accelirates. it also somtimes backfires.

I think it could be my FPR is over run and has too much fuel presure thus the idle problems, hesitation, and backfireing.

no ideas, i'm preaty sure its not a vac leak because i put all new vac lines on when i removed the rats nest (& new fuel lines). I'm thinking it could be too much fuel pressure or my TPS needs to be reset.
