Idle problems after first starting on TII
Well, I've got a TII with a rebuilt engine that has about 160miles on it right now. It's starting to run a lot better. I've been kind to it so far, keeping below 3500rpm... Well trying to stay below 3k, but I think I need another gear for that on the highway.
Anyway, I've read about a lot of idle problems on the forum, and know that they can be caused by a bad ecu, vacuum leaks, bad o2 sensor, etc. The thing is that my car idles pretty well after it's warmed up. But when I first try to start it(in the morning for example) it doesn't want to idle. I have to feather the gas for a few minutes, and then I can let my foot off, and it's fine and I can go. It idles at about 750rpm but it is somewhat lower at like 650-700 sometimes, which is probably a little low. I've tried adjusting it on the BAC, but that didn't seem to do a lot of good. Anyway, would this just be caused by low compression, or is there something else I can adjust?
With the rebuild, I removed all the emissions stuff, rat's nest, etc. The pre-cat is hollowed out. All I have left is the main cat. I have a full greddy power extreme turbo back in the garage that I haven't put on yet. I just wanted to get the car running first. Anyway, I thought I should mention that because I didn't know if the emissions crap could have something to do with my problem.
