Idle problem (maybe)...

Last weekend, I began the project of removing the AC, all emissions, as well as the 6 port intake system. Everything removed was blocked off with plates I made or purchased from 2751 engineering, and I capped anything that used to have a vacuum line on it. I have had the intake apart a couple times and can verify that everything is capped off.

Here is the problem: The idle rests between 1500 and 2000 rpm's.

The idle adjustment screw is in as far as it will go, and the boost/pressure sensor is working properly. Today, I adjusted the TPS because it was a little off, and then hooked a vacuum gauge up to the dynamic chamber. It read a constant 18 inHg.

Does anyone have any idea why the idle is so high? This has been bugging me for a week, so I am up to any suggestions.

Thanks for the help.

Chris

I'm not too sure how it is on the N/A, but I had a high idle when I did the same thing to my turbo. I had to adjust the throttle plate stop screw near the throttle cable. This was keeping the throttle from closing enough to have a normal idle.

I fixed it! After parousing the FSM a little, I got the idea of adjusting the fast idle cam seeing as my Thermowax is dead. Because its dead, even after warming up the wax rod was not extending fully which would allow the idle cam to seperate from the roller. I tightened the cam adjusting screw until it was as tight as possible, which lowered the idle quite a bit. It drove perfect, and now idles perfect.
