Idle problem

When I start my "new" 87 it jumps to 2000 Rpm and stays their till warm. When warm is drops to 1200. I thought they should be at about 750 when warm. Any suggestions?

Thanks

TPS, throttle cable, idle mix screw, vacuum lines, the list goes on and on. Very few FCs have a good idle at 750. I have mine set to 1k, cuz any lower, and it drops to 200. Good luck!!

Good call. The TII has a idle adjust screw on the BAC. Try that as well.

My '88 N/A won't idle over 700, even if I turn the idle screw almost all the way out. I just replaced the vacuum hoses. It runs smooth, I'd just like to 'turn it up a notch'.

i have a good idle finally... almost

well my throttle cable is too tight so when i pull back on the the pedal it drops to 750, but this was after, disconecting the asv the hot start, and the airpump, also replaced all vacuum hoses with silicone, and got the tps all good....

yes the warm up at 2k then drop down is normal, doesn't mean its good for the engine. its to warm up the cats to get fewer cold start emissions, remove your intercooler, and remove the connector on your tb inlet, right by the ic hose near the firewall... i think that will disable the hot start system, also adjust that tps and bac
