Anyone make a downpipe??
Has anyone ever had a downpipe made by a muffler shop??
I just don't know why there is never any mention of it- only custom cat-backs and mid pipes.
I am doing a Turbo install on my engine... and have gotten most of the parts, but now I am on a VERY tight budget (luckily I bought most of the stuff already), and I can't dish out 200 or more dollars U.S. for a 2 foot long exhaust pipe!!
I'm assuming a nice 3" one can just be bent at a shop for about 50 bucks??

yea I have made one but the first time I bought the cheep thin mandril bends and they where hard to weld. you have to find some nice thick ones. but it is alot cheeper I plan on finding some 3.5" pipe. To make a turbo back.
In Surrey BC Canada there is a shop called muffler man and they made a 3inch downpipe for my friend for 200 CDN maybe u can get a deal like that over where you live. it was basicly the same performance wise as the tanabe one i have on my car wich costs 650 CDN
I had a muffler shop remove my old cats, cut off the flanges, get some pipe, cut and bend it to fit, and install it all for $45. It was from the manifold to the Y-pipe, so I assume it would cost the same for a TII.
