BC Idle issues

Hello, so the new problem with my car would be when the car is warming up and parked, it will rev to 2000, then slowly lower as it should. Now if I were to drive the car after say letting it lower the idle to 1500 or so every time I come to a complete stop or shift the idle will go to 2000. If the temp gauge is almost to the middle it will then get a bouncing idle from 1200 to 1800 and then smooth out to 2000. Now when its warm if I were to come to a complete stop but brake until the rpm's drop to around 1000 it will hold idle there. But if I put it in neutral while its at 1500 rpm it will do the bouncing idle again. If I go to stop and lower the rpm to about 900 it will idle at about 600 rpm. Is it just a matter of adjusting the TPS or is the throttle cable sticking? I searched for a similar issue and have found others having certain parts of my issue but what confuses me is why it is ok if I just lower the rpms down low its fine.

That is kind of intriguing. Try looking for vacuum leaks first, and see if the throttle body is sticking. May be the cable, may be the cold start linkage. The surging idle may be due to the tps, so try adjusting it as well. If you can get the idle down below 1000 RPM, try checking the timing as well.

The secondary throttle plates ended up being what was sticking, they have now been removed and its muuuch better ! No surging idle so far but I'm going to keep looking for vacuum leaks to be sure and adjust my TPS.
