Idle Issue - Stalling on warm starts and when slowing down/stopping please help.
Hi everyone I've got a 91 vert RX7. It's been my daily driver since February.
It has a quirk where on cold starts it'll rev extremely high (4-5k) and stick there until I drive it. This was no issue for me at first because this would fix itself after I drove the car for a bit. Warm starts were amazing.
When I got the car it had no A/C, I work at a dealership and sent it in to fix my A/C for me. After the A/C got fixed it started having an issue on warm starts where it would stall out if I didn't hold the throttle. Driving is fine, it stays on with A/C on, but if I'm coasting to a stop, stopping, or in a low gear (1st or 2nd) at low MPH, it will stall out on me. The car still instantly starts, so I'm not sure if it's a compression issue, but it could be possible because I believe the motor is original. The car is COMPLETELY stock, including EGR and everything.
Could this be my A/C compressor going bad? An IACV/thermowax issue? I'm not sure what to check first but it keeps getting worse everyday. I'd like the easier solutions first and I know idle issues could be a few different things on these cars. It tends to mostly do this with the A/C on, when it's off it'll rarely do it, but it still does happen sometimes. Thanks

Have you checked the BAC? I believe that is suppose to increase the idle under load. On some manufacturers cars, it is very easy to see how the car reacts to changes when at idle. Some computers or other will bump the idle up when the steering wheel is turned just a little either way. Also when the AC is turned on, if the idle drops when it is turned on and doesn't recover, that's the problem. It should bump the idle just a bit and then it will normalize. There is a system built into the car that offsets low idle at a heavy load. Perhaps I got the name of the part wrong, someone knows here.
