so now that the wheel bearing fiasco is taken care of, i've realized that my car likes to idle between 1500 and 2300, depending on the stoplight. Sometimes it will surge. Rarely it will actually idle below 1000.

Is the idle air controller bad? Easy way to test it? Or better yet, work around it? the high idle is pretty damn annoying.

first check for a stuck throttle or cruise control cable.
