91 Vert ECU interchange, PLEASE HELP

Okay guys, I'm sorry if this has been asked a hundred times before. I have been looking for an hour or so for the answer to this question, to no avail. Okay, I have a 91 vert, in which I'm pretty darn sure the ECU is out of it. I have been looking for a replacement, and have seen several different answers on what can be used. I haven't taken it out yet, but I'm guess by my research it is an N353. I read a post saying that as long as the first three digits are the same, you can interchange them, meaning I could use a N351, and N52, which I have found easier to find. However, I read somewhere else (not sure where, like I said I've been searching for quite some time!) that you can only use an N353, and if you use the others that your top won't go up and down. So which is true?! Thanks!

I use N351's all the time on Verts.

The top works just dandy.

I would think you would need a s5 ecu for the electric omp and solenoids. From what i remember i believe you have to also take the wiring into consideration. I believe it was the first 3 letters/numbers have to match like a n332 will work with a n333... thats what i think i remeber so you want to wait for one of the guru's to verify that
