Idiot Light Problem
Alright I got my TII swap going in my S4 GTU and it seems to run alright except for the fact that ALL of my idiot lights satay on. rear hatch, over heat exh. ect. What could be causing this??? its really annoying. I thought it might be an ECU problem but I put a different on in there and it did the same thing. The other problem is that as soon as you turn the key on the Temp gauge goes straight to hot all the way up. My N/A motor didnt have a sensor on the upper radiator hose neck and the TII does. Dosent seem to matter if its plugged in or not tho. Any Suggestions????

Just a repeat of the above: On a 87NT, the alternators plug is a part of the Emissions harness that is on the right side of the engine bay. On a Turbo model the plug is on the engine harnes on the left side of the engine bay.
The idiot light cluster is supposed to light all up when the key is to ON. That action is controlled by a relay in the CPU which is controlled in turn by a wire from the back of the alternator.
Just FYI stuff. If one was to swap the two small wires on the back of the alternator, he would find that when he wanted to shut the car off by turning the key to OFF, that the engine will still run til it runs out of gas. Been there and done that this week by accident on my NT to Turbo swap using the original 87NT harness for both engines. Cars be fun stuff.
