Idiot Light and Coolent Warning
alright guys here it goes.....
I know when the idiot lights stay lit up full when the car is on that it is a signal about alternator problems. What mine does however is turns off when the car turns on, but the lights light up when the car is off. I have a new FD alt. so I dont want to think its the alternator that is causing problems. also, apon quick inspection all the wiring looks to be fine. Ideas? Tests to do?
second and maybe related topic.
My add coolent warning (freaking buzzer!!) keeps going off (has been intermittent ). I have bled the system already as I know that can cause the problems. I also have a brand new coolent level sensor. It was going off then stopped for a couple days and now today it has started up again. Maybe bad wiring? coolent is full (tank and rad). I also replaced the thermostat (yes correctly) in recent history. Checked the rad cap and the seals look fine. I have a freshly rebuilt CPU that I replaced if that makes any difference.
I also had a current drain problem which killed (completely) my battery, I have a new battery now and havn't had a chance to do a current drain test (my multi-meter doesn't have an amp tester that works), and just to be sure I'm doing it right you disconnect the postive battery cable and put the multi-meter in between? I know the ambient draw from some of Icemarks past post
I have thoroughly searched on all my topics and havn't gleaned any usefull information from past threads so please don't tell me to search.
Thanks to anyone who can help me out with my little electrical gremmlins.

The coolant buzzer comes from the back of the gauges...
Then there is also the buzzer in the CPU.
If the alt is not working correctly it is not uncommon to have the CPU buzzer activate.
If you still have the buzzer, then check the oil level sensor and the coolant sensor.
