idiot cluster stays on after key turned off?

idiot cluster stays on after key turned off?
if i apply the E-brake after the car is off (ignition) the light in the idiot cluster stays on?
also i seen the "shift up" light on to but it was very dull, almost like the battery was dead, but its fine?
also, i un hooked the battery for a second and when i hooked it back up my buzzer for the door was going off? it sounded like the battery was dying from that to but it will start right up and battery is tested fine....

ok, i drove the car around a little (with a fire extinguisher) and went home and shut car off and everything is fine?
i dont get it!!!
