idiot cluster clock problem....wierd...

ok so i'v searched but cant find it.

now i know of the re-doing of the soldering but i dont think this applies.

so my clock kinda reacts to my aftermarket deck, it will blink to the music alot of the time or just turn off when i have my deck on, but not all the time, and if i hit my dash the clock will turn back on for awhile.

my question is since i searched for a wiring diagram for the harness of the idiot cluster.. what wire is for the clock, i get the feeling whoever wiring the deck splices into the clock wire possibly. or maybe using it as a ground.. i duno but it;s rather annoying.
any info would be a great help thank you,

ps. i hate people who do shitty *** hack jobbed deck wiring... do it fricken right so the next person who comes along doesnt have a headache trying to figure out what you did!!!!

ok done venting..

Look at the back of the Haynes manual for the wiring diagrams. The idiot cluster runs from the ACC line. I'm almost willing to bet that whoever installed your deck spliced into that line for some large power feed.

does it blow any fuses?
And yea check the wires, you will probably have to redo your power and/or remote wire and will be fine.

well i'm replacing the deck from an alpine to an boss deck,, the 745ba to be exact.
and i found it just wierd, cause i found 3 wires being spliced into 1 in 2 spots,
i should have taken a picture but i didnt.
the deck would also shut it self off after the volume went over 24... i thought the internal amp couldnt handle it but now im not so sure. owell i'll see with this new deck
