idiot cluster..can't find the harness :(

I installed a new dash and I cannot find out where to plug in the idiot cluster, this thing buzzes non stop when the key in the ignition. Does the plug that goes into the idiot cluster attached to the cpu harness or does it have a double ended plug on the harness. What I mean by that is, could this have been unplugged from the idiot cluster and the main harness?

I dont want to have to pull the dash again but I cant stand the buzzing going off 100% of the time.

Since I'm not sure what you're asking, I will point you to the free on-line copy of the factory service manuals.
There is a link in my sig.
Navagate to the body electrical section for your model. Then select & print whatever you need.

what I am asking is where is the wiring clip to plug into the back of the idiot cluster?

I did not see any extra connectors behind the dash which makes me think that the wiring harness that goes to the idiot cluster can be removed from the idiot cluster, and the main harness..I hope that makes sense.

I just relocated my idiot cluster last night...the wiring comes up from behind the glove box...realy hard to get to and really short...but to answer your question about if it can be unplugged from the main harness, I don't think so, I didn't see anything that would make me believe that it could be...but that is just from what I saw...hope this helps.

ok, well I will have to pull the dash out and see where this wire is hiding then.

I am assuming that with the idiot cluster not being plugged in, thats what causes the buzzer to go off 100% since all my fluids are good and battery etc etc

No. The clock/idiot light panel has nothing to do with any buzzers.

If you are getting a constant buzzer from the dash (not the kick panel) then you either have low oil, low coolant, or are exceeding redline.

If the fluids really are up, then you have busted wires to the coolant level sensor or the oil pan oil level sensor.

ill check the wires for continuity. it is coming from the dash with the idiot cluster unplugged. The car is idling, with topped off coolant and oil.

If it comes down to it I will rip out every damn buzzer in the car.

I have enough gauges that I know whats going on with my motor.

That would be pretty stupied... simular to cutting your hand off because you have a hang nail.

Fix the car... it's telling you something is wrong. IT IS WARNING FOR A REASON.

And I doubt you have gauges to tell you what the level of the oil or water is in the car, and temp gauges would never fast enough if you sprung a leak on either. I mean how hard is it to check two sensors and their wires??? If it took you 15 minutes it would be surprising.

But its your car... you can be clueless.

Just don't bug us or post here when its blown up.

haha, I knew I would get a rise out of someone by saying that.

Yes I will check and replace the wires, but for some reason if track day comes I am not listening to that buzzer for 30 min at a time.
