idea for rear fenders.
I have an idea for some rear fenders, i searched around but haven't found anything. Most people buy the fiberglass ones and rivet them on. Wouldnt buying stock rear quarters cut out of an rx7 and riveted over the stock body give the same effect? obviously there would have to be some metal work done around gas filler door and the edges where the door is but this could work?
There is a thread on zilvia of a guy who mated 944 rear quarterpanels to his S13 in order to match up with his s15 tail lights better.
It looked like a lot of work..

Adding stock fenders ontop of stock fenders will widen an inch? And have a very noticeable overlap.
Could take a pair of stocks, contour them, then add sheet metal to get them where you need.
Unless you have a lot of time, and can work metal, or know someone who can for cheap, definitely not worth it.

Yes, but you aren't going to get much wider without serious metal work. Get fiberglass ones, mold them in.
People only rivet them because that's what the cool kids do. That and if you actually damage them, it's about 600x easier to remove and repair.

thats the goal, easy to pop off and easy to slap on.
Molding it in is for hard parkers. People who race their cars can come home from a track day short a few rivets from all the chassis flex
Honestly going fiberglass would be the easiest. Perhaps there are urethane options as well

Yeah i use the car for drifting and the wheels i use are wide, not liking the tire sticking past the fenders look so lookin for an alternative way to widen the rear. however i did find a website that sells the 4 pc kit for roughly 300 bucks, thats stupid cheap so i might go that route.
