I took the air pump off of my 1989 GTU and there are two things that is above the header. I was wondering what they do and if I can delete them?

Those are the actuators for the aux( 5th and 6th) ports. Without the air pump they won't function. So you can remove them but it's really more complicated than that. Did your aux ports work before you started this? If so I would rethink removing the air pump and all that's associated with it on a stock car. Those are closed at low rpm to help with torque. Then above 3800 they open allowing more top end power to be made. If you remove them you need to move the rods they attach to, to their high rpm position that way you make peak power. The problem is it will hurt you're bottom end power below where they open. Also your VDI won't work anymore so you need to wire it open to it's high rpm position too. If you still have a cat it will burn up without the air pump IIRC.
