I want to kill people and things and stuff:mad:
so I have successfully stripped every screw head of the 4 screws on the secondary plates in the TB. I got 2 of them half out but the other 2 are just straight fuct. I dont want to drill them because that seems like a hassle to clean metal scraps out of my TB while it is still on the car.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as always.

thanks, I might have something in my garage like that.
I cant go anywhere because I would have to put the intake tube back on and I dont want to suck a screw into my engine

If there's still plenty of meat left on the head of the screw, you could cut a new groove for a flat head screwdriver. All you need is a Dremel with a cutting blade.

Yeah this EXACTLY happened to me too. It really pissed me off at the time. HOW ******' TIGHT DO THE SCREWS HAVE TO BE?? I think they dry out really bad with all that air flowing by.
Anyways, I just screwed it and tied the plates open...there was no hope.
Peace,
Nima

Jeez guys, this isn't that big of a deal. A drill bit, 10 minutes, and you have the plates gone.
Just take the TB off so you don't suck down aluminum It's what, 4 nuts?

Well if you don't want to drill anything get a pair of vice grips and tighten them down as much as you can so you just squeze the hell out of them on that screw and twist. That will get them out.

I can't believe that you went ahead and did that with the TB still on the car. No room and the everything in there is tighter than a sober virgin on prom night. Take the damn thing off.

I want to do the whole TB mod today and I am thinking of porting it out a little. but what would the outcome of all that be pros, cons?

OH MY! I sure hope you are not going to try and port that thing on the car. And as Silkworm said; it is only four nuts to take the thing off. It is about the easiest part of the intake to R&R. I would not port it if I were you. You will gain nothing and stand to loose alot of street manners. You can port the intake manifolds but the TB is not worth the effort unless you're maxed out on other mods; and even then it's not such a great idea.

One secret to getting those screws out (Before you strip them :-) is to buy a phillips bit for a screw gun, place it in a 1/4" socket (or whatever size it is) attach it to an extension, and turn the thing off with a rachet.
By using a rachet, you can put a lot more pressure on the screw head. Works on the other PITA screws on 7s: brake rotors, 6p sleeve covers etc. Just make sure u use the right size screw bit.
