i have a 88 n/t and i want to get rid of the rear steering.
i was told, to lower the car im going to want to get rid of this rear steering stuff. im not sure if this is true but the plan is to cut the coil springs untill i get coilovers. if i was told incorrectly can someone shine some light on the subject, and or give me a better idea?

+1 for cutting the springs. Only hobos cut springs! For the rear steering like 87 T-66 says the dtss illiminator bushings are awesome. My original bushings were finished just like probably everyone else that has not done this mod yet. My car felt sloppy and I had horrible tire wear in the back.(2000-3000kms on a set.) After the replacement the car was more responsive in tight fast corners.

We did this on our '86 SSA racecar way back when and you could drive the car any way you wanted to, with confidence. My previous owner did this mod 20 years ago( Racing Beat DTSS eliminators) and the car is a joy to drive deep into corners to this day. No tire wear issues, current tires have been on since '06(20,000 miles) and are just over 1/2 worn, evenly. Car is lowered with suspension techniques springs, bars and Tokico adustable shocks.
