Waste of time...
NA even worse...
Dump the car and get a domestic V8.
It's cheaper and more parts are available.
The FC suspension is not made for drag racing, and it gets delicate with serious power.
You're starting with a non-turbo, which already has the weaker drivetrain, and once you start to get into the 13's (or faster), you're going to be breaking drivetrain parts up the ***.

Uh, if he gets a car with a v8 in it, most cars with v8s in it dont handle very well, weigh more, etc. The RX-7 on the other hand has awesome handling, light weight...
There *IS* a reason us guys put other engines into RX-7s you know... the CAR itself! Plus, a T-II rear is like.... $300?
Honestly if you wanna poorboy it, try a TPI/AOD in a FB with a ford 8" or whatever. All the low end youd ever want and insanely low weight - and insanely low cost!

Eh,
I wish alot more people does what digitalsolo does, staying in their own forum seemingly , letting people do what they like without telling them what to do.
The poster has a rebuilt ROTARY engine, he didn't ask how to put in a V8 or if he should. Most people buy the car for the engine in it but enough about that.
Anyhow onto whatever is going on, I guess I'll prepare to be flamed by V8 guys on a RX7 forum .

Find some rx8 sidehousings, do the staging right (I dnno how to control it) and get some real long runners on the intake side for it and tubular headers.
Or, just go WITH how the rotary makes its power and rev it up!
