Mine is mounted with the Cusco offset bracket. Uses stock mounting location but offsets it to the left

That, and the fact that the first corner I power slid flung the plate like a damn ninja star at my face. It doesn't look good anywhere on the front, so just use the stock location. I'd worry more about the bumper blocking your fmic than the plate. Drill some vent holes in the plate if you are concerned.
