Unhappy I thought I lost my 7

This weekend I changed my antifreeze in my 87 n/a. After I was done, I fired it up and all was good. I let it sit and idle for about 10 mins. then I shut it off. There was some powersteering fluid leaking so I decided to spray it off. After spraying the engine compartment, I had to go get gas for my car. I started it up and it felt like the car was going to explode. Exhaust was smoking, it sounded like I was running open manifold, I had to floor it to get up to 2500 and it wouldn't go any higher. After I thought my engine was blown, I looked at all spark plugs and opened the crank angle sensor and it had quite a bit of water. I cleaned that out and started it up and everything is all good now. I thought I almost lost my freshly rebuilt engine.

check that your MAF is hooked up (behind the airbox).

you mean you hosed the engine without covering the electrical stuff like CAS, alt, etc

Is this why you got water in the CAS ?

just wondering,

Don't forget to cover your air filter too.

You just need to know where to spray, I've sprayed off my engine many times with my mechanic when we where trying to find the oil leak, which was the front cover, but none of the times I have had that problem, our engines are almost water proof, much more than regular piston engines......

I spray everything but the air intake and the brake and clutch fluid filler vents. Everything else should be (or can be made) waterproof.

don't spray the TPS, or the MAF (if it is exposed bc u have an intake). Either will have to be dried before the car will feel like its out of "limp" mode.
