i think my engine blew!

Unhappy i think my engine blew!

i think that my engine blew while i was driving it home. all i heard was a poping sound and then my car just died on me. it even won't start back up now and there is some smoke coming out form the back.
i even just got temp. plates for my car yesterday.do u think i can rebulid it or i need a new engine.

If it cranks, check the compression.

i think i had a vacuum leak before already b/c my idle wasn't staying. but when it was like that the car will start right up. i think i need to find someone to check my compression.

Go to AutoZone, or similar, and get a regular compression gauge. Remove the Shrader valve, and you're all set. DO NOT take it to a Mazda dealer, they will give you false readings.

Some are on the line and some are on the gauge body itself. If you ask the guy at the parts store, he should be able to help you.
