I rebuilt my motor (S4 N/A) about 5000 miles ago. This weekend, in Somerset, PA, I think it quit on me again. I started er' up, put it in first, and took off. I got about 50 feet and it sputtered twice, and died. I tried to coast start it. Got it rolling, key on, in gear, popped the clutch. Nothing. The tach didn't even bounce. I ran out of parking lot, stopped, and turned the key. I hear this sound, like a really slow crank. Almost a grinding sound. I did not run the oil dry, all fluids were good. Brand new battery and starter too. I know the flywheel is messed up. It was putting a lot of load on the starter. But I should have been able to coast start it if that was the case. I know the transmission is knocking a little bit. So tell me what you guys think. I have no time to work on it now. I just had it towed from Somerset to Washington pa. So i'm dead tired... called off work... depressed. Whats it looking like? After I got it home and charged the battery, it's still cranking like the battery is dead. I also tried to spin the pulleys by hand, which I usually can do, but now I can't.
