I think its all over...
As some of you may know I purchased my 87 s4 na base a few months ago and when i had time to tinker with the potential beast i did. well i ahve done all that my time allows me to and i have no idea what is wrong with it.
i replaced the plugs, checked for spark, checked the proper order, bought a new AF meter, fuel pump, cleaned the injectors, fuel rails, cleaned out the TB and IM, got the exhaust actuators working, gutted the interior to check that all the wores were ok, cleaned out the inside. The car has fuel pressure, spark, but wont start. I even tried it with just the starter fluid and the fuel pump disabled, not even a kick.
if any one has any ideas what to check let me know, if not im gonna try and sell/part it.

There are 4 things you need for combustion in any engine
1. Air
2. Spark
3. Fuel
4. Compression
Now you defenitly have air, your getting spark and you have fuel pressure, but you may not be getting fuel. Have you actually seen the injectors spit out fuel? Have you checked compression on the car? Also, if your getting spark, maybe its too weak, like the coils are going?
There are a few tests in the haynes manual that tell you how to test the injectors, I suggest you try them. Whenever a car doesn't start, just remember those 4 things, and go right to the root of the problem. You've already done quite a bit to find out, but you still havent found the problem.

thanks for the idea about the codes, i will try that.
as for the fuel, i think thats irrelevant because i used start fluid and it didnt even kick...
i think it may be the compression. the car sat for 3 or 4 years, but ran before that. i did the ATF in the rotors before i cranked it over but nothing. I put my finger over the leading plug hole when i had it out and had my friend crank it, i felt compression but i very comfortably was able to keep my finger over the the hole, consider the car is suppsoed to maintain a level of about 60psi, not happening...

That or more likely it's just dead. Pull the leading plugs and crank it, if an assload of 'mist' comes out of under the hood, well then it's possibly flooded to hell, if you don't get strong pulses alternating between the front and rear rotor, it's dead.

120psi.. wow, i had my finger covering the spark plug hole, entirely, as the engine cranked over a few times, i think 120psi would have been strong enough t blow my finger away.
i had the plugs out and cranked her, mist did not come out. nothing did actually, the trailing plugs werent even wet.
i unpluged the fuel pump and then tried starting her with only starting fluid.. still no start.
i think shes dead.
i have heard from a mechanic friend of mine that if the car sits for a while, even if it idled fine before its possible for the corner springs to go bad at that time... maybe thats what happend. I dont know... i think i have come to a dead end.

You said you replaced just about everything in the car, but failed to mention anything about checking fuses, check them all especially the main EGI fuses
