my tranny in my 87 TII grinds when i put it into 5th gear unless i led it rev down to idle. it hink i need new synchros. how much would these cost? where could i find them? how hard are they to replace/fix?

 

Boy, if I could find a source for a rebuild kit, I'd probably buy all the tools to do the job. Maybe even do a few for others....

Parts are available from Mazda and there is only one special tool needed. I made the one I have.

 

Does anyone know if they make a rebuild kit, or at the very least I'd be interested in an exploded view diagram that includes part numbers. I have the FSM, but it doesn't include the part numbers if I remember correctly. If I could find a Mazda dealer that was responsive and efficient with web ordering, that would be a plus too.

Mine ground into fifth before I put in Redline MT90. Also theres a "sweet spot" that will not grind when going into fifth.
