I drove my 7 for like a mile before I tore the engine out... if you are in a rural/ residential area it shouldn't matter... Hell throw some plates from another car on there and drive it... unless they run the plates you will be golden... My brother and I drove our 280zx home from 3 hours away with plates from my maxima. Never saw a cop but no one thought anything was out of the ordinary... be careful with the driving when mom is not home cuz if you live in a town or your neighbors are nosy sombody might see you driving and report it back... life's a bitch like that... sneek out at night or some ****.

but then if you get pulled over expect to pay some big fines.... no registration,no insurance, no tag, no proof of license.... can keep going for a while and if the cop is a dick he can give you a ticket for almost anything on your car....

If you put in used components and unlapped housings it is possible that it wont get better than that. Ive had and worked on motors that have less than that and still turn some nice numbers.

FWIW, the RA seals are a hard seal and take longer to break in than most others like an atkins. You should see good running results within 1000-1500 miles, but it may continue to slowly gain compression up until 3 or 4k miles.

Later,
Lapped housings are up to debate, but used sideseal springs can cause lower numbers that's true, just like anything used or out of spec. IMO the sideseal springs should be replaced upon tear down/build up of an engine.

the side seals still appeared to be reallly springy.. they came from the 9k rebuilt engine that i got the housings from, so i think they only have 9k miles on em too...

Psssht, just build yourself a home-made dyno and put some load on it. I bet you have enough FC parts still lying around to do something.

Check this hot piece of machinery out:

Here's the rest of the pics:

It was a project some guy did for school and it's pretty neat how it works. I'm sure if you play with the site address a bit you might find the page he wrote about it.
