Question I REALLY need some help soon

I have owned i one 91 rx-7 before , but after never had time to do much work to it considering 1 month after i bought it i blew the u joint and the city towed it the next day.

I bid on one on ebay and hope to get it since the auction ends tommorow night and im the only one to bid. the guy that owns it says that it dosnt get the right power it should but the the engine dosnt knock and no funny sounds , starts great , tranny is fine and will go as fast as you want just no power ( go as fast as you want just not as soon) I personaly think it is a clogged caddy converter and since the auction ends tommorow and i will have to drive it 300 miles home i was wondering if yall could tell me your opinion. i know it isnt a turbo just a regular 13 b . thanks in advance for all the help.

semms like your buying a car youve never seen, driven, heard.... and you know there is a problem w/ it, and you want to drive it 300 miles home?? i see like 10 big red flags waving on this one! first, im sure its in worse shape than the owner says it is.... and if hes stating its got a loss of power, than im sure its a MAJOR loss in power.... maybe cats, maybe not... if it is cats, driving it 300 miles on clogged cats isnt the smartest thing to do.... if you get it at a good price, id recommend towing it so further damage isnt caused on the drive home.... and heaven forbid you break down on the way from buying your "new" car.... thats one hell of a downer!

be smart about it, and check the car out vigorously, test drive it for a while, see how bad this loss of power is, and make your best judgement on what you should do
