do you actually understand the fundamental concepts behind the article? Think basics....what causes combustion? air and fuel. how do you make more power? By having more of the air-fuel mixture. Since you can add fuel by using larger injectors and the such, that part's easy. Well, how do you get more air? Since air occupies a certain volume at atmospheric pressure, and a small volume at higher atmospheric pressure, you can fit more oxygen per volume by pressurizing it. The OTHER way, is to use colder air, since colder air already occupies less space, i.e. the air is denser.
Obviously the ideal, is to have pressurized cold air, but if you're saying that the highest atmospheric pressure zone is better than having cold fenderwell air, then more power to you.

Even though it wasn't really necessary, I used adhesive insulating material on the hot side of my aluminium heat shield. It was just stuff I had lying around.
The following quote could be the dictionary definition of "way wrong"...
...yes cold air helps your engine breathe better but it really doesnt help on performance cars, especially N/A's.
here is a wonderful article that will settle this once and for all...
meaning don't put your filter in the engine bay and don't cut holes in your ride to let your filter suck in just cold air.
Actually that would be cue Evil Aviator...
