I only get 4psi, FCD, BOV, Full exhaust, ported wastegate,TB mod, rebuilt motor

Whats the deal as the title says I only get 4 psi on my 1987 TII. Full exhaust, BOV, ported wastegate, rebuilt motor, TB mod, and FCD
The car supposedly has an FCD SOLDERED into the car. If this is true where could i find the location as to where it "might" (where an FCD normally gets installed) be soldered into the car

Has had almost everything from fuel injector harness clips replaced to all of the gaskets, intercooler piping, injector grommets and o-rings etc..etc..

Could the fuel system have anything to do with only 4psi?

I have an engine code LED light and there are currently no codes being thrown on the motor.

Turbo has very very little Vertical shaft play, no side to side play, and this car NEVER SMOKES.

I am stumped
any suggestions?

nope it doesnt have any type of hesitation going through the rpm band. all the way from idle which is around 1100 right now (needs to be readjusted) to redline without a problem

Something "turbo related" is likely not hooked up properly... There's a seriously leak (or something) somewhere.

Just make sure all of the related intercooler clamps, BOV, WG lines etc. are all hooked up tightly and correctly.

i had a similar issue. and mine only went to 6psi.

It was my CAT.. it did not flow well after the rebuild since all the rebuild stuff clogged it up.

replaced it with a RB pre-selincer for the full 3" and shat my pants the 1st time i drove it.

i was then pushing 15psi.. a HUGE increase..

The FCD will most likely be at the ECU, but this won't have anything to do with your problem. It can't control or affect boost.

Could the fuel system have anything to do with only 4psi?
No.

Are you sure the boost gauge is accurate?

You have a leak somewhere in the system, check from the turbo to the engine and all the vaccuum lines.

how big is your waste gate ported? You have an ebc to boost the psi right?

okay here is an update i recently made my own pressure tester from this website

http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

It worked great i instantly found the vacuum leak but the problem is its the GASKET BETWEEN THE FAST IDLE CAM AND THROTTLE BODY

Does anyone know where i can buy a new fast idle cam gasket?

The fast idle cam doesn't have a gasket, it's part of the linkages. Do you mean the thermowax? Mazda will have the gasket but it'd be a lot quicker just to make one from gasket paper.

I like that pressure tester, I might do that.

I doubt anyone but Mazda will have it, but seriously, just make it out of gasket paper. Why wait a week for someone to send you one tiny gasket that you could make yourself in five minutes? It'll probably cost about the same and one sheet will last for many years of quick repairs.

Soak the screws with a spray penetrant, leave for 10 minutes, then hit 'em with an impact driver. If you don't have one I recommend buying one. They're a great investment.

okay so here is the deal i removed the thermowax and made my own gasket out of gasket material as NZConvertible suggested. The gasket worked great but the car on the other hand still had a boost problem....so finally i get under the hood with the car idling and i pull on the throttle cable and sure enough the BOV was sticking wide open and wasnt closing at idle so now i need to get a stock BOV replacement

Does anyone have a stock BOV and Stock BOV air splitter pipe for sale? Or could i go another route and cheaply fix it?

Hey, well at least you found the problem. Just make a quick post in the FS section and see if anything local comes up. I have what you're looking for, but I'm across the country...
