I need your guys help on more speed - this is why...

(This is a segment of my post in Kills Section): "TII and Celica GT-S"

OK, enuf of this crap, I have been nosed by a Bullitt, a Celica GT-S and an A8...all in the last 2 months and I want to do something about it. If I run mp and fcd I'll creep to 13psi. What other options do I have short of Haltech.. What can I do now that won't break the bank or my engine?

I have experimented with fcd and mp and it transforms the car - I know I'd have totally waxed any of the aforementioned cars but I want to run safely....help!

How about an S-AFC or something similar, to make sure you don't lean your mixture out.

Why do people always look for the cheap mods first? especially when they could run lean and blow engine.... Why not get the expensive neccesary ones out of way? get the haltech... Play it safe

Check your compression, the audi, or the celica shouldn't have gotten you. Don't know much about that other car. But you definitley shouldn't have had your *** whooped by a huge luxury sedan.

Hopefully this will help you guys to narrow your assessments...

I'm beginning to wonder if it's my weight or my compression???

Thanks again for any input...

move to fl.

we have no more emissions. then get a straight turbo back racing exhaust, fcd, safc, intake, jacobs ign. aluminum flywheel (12lb), bov, fuel pump--all this should make you hit mid to high 13's according to some of the guru's from this forum. i havent gotten a time slip on mine but with this set up it is running str8 as f**k.

love them rotors!!!!!!! smooth power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jaime:
I know the car is faster with mp but it'll creep to 13 psi (that's the ONLY reason I have the hi-flo cat) and I already have a 9lb. flywheel.

What year is your car?
What size secondary injectors are you running?
What boost psi are you hitting?

thanks.

1) Learn how to launch from a dead stop - all that tire spin gets you no where.&nbsp If it was from a rolling start, you should killed at least 2 of those cars.

2) Get an upgrade fuel pump - your set-up looks very dangerous to lean right now!

then whats it for huh? Everyone i've talked to said it made them accelerat alot faster, u just have to get better at lauches and know how to launch...

The best way to increase your times are, practice launching, as someone already said, shave 2 seconds of 0-60...

yep light flywheels are not really for the drag strip. bigger wheel = more torque = harder pull off the line.

the lighter flywheel will rev faster once you are already moving. like comming out of a corner and flooring it.

1. I have already practiced, the launch wasn't that bad.

2. There's a Walbro in my sig. and I'm not even hitting fuel cut in any gear.

3. I run very even with a buddy's 10th AE and he's got intake, dp, punched out cat, catback.

reduce your weight.
ATF
electric fan
underdrive pulleys
remove AC, P/S, and air pump
synthetic oil in everything and pop out your wheel bearing and regreese them with synthetic too

MSD or Jacobs ignition amplifier. I noticed a big difference. MSD will tell you you need three boxes, one for leading ans two for trailing. but you can get away with one for leading

at least remove your subwoofer box whe you race if not the whole thing
synthetic @ strock oil in your gas
go ans get two 15" wheels as light as you can find and wrap som mickeys around them, the "street Legal" ones

NOS is about $500. pretty cheap for 75 horses, ans safe if you set up and use it right.

remove you EGR valve to improve low end power for launch
electric water pump for about $350 I think, of Summit has a motor kit you use with your stock pump for $60. They claim about 12% freed power

I will think some more.
any of these sound good?
