its true to those that don't understand the scheme the hood may look like a carbon fiber wannabe but believe me if i wanted carbon fiber i wouldve gotten it i just was considering something different. Again thanks for your comment it was greatly appreciated

 

the rice look just isn't my taste as well. the fc looks awesome just with the stock setup

I hear ya, but 99% of people looking at your car will think that is the look you're going for. The black and white GTS was a two tone paint job from the factory. I don't think it ever came with a black hood. That being said, there are only two reasons the car would have one: a) replaced stock hood with Carbon Fiber or b) paint stock hood to match rest of car's color scheme. If you're going for the two tone "panda" look, I'd suggest paying attention to finding other parts of the car to paint as well to match the hood.

your rite about those 99% that might see it that way thats why i put up this poll and your rite about modifying my color scheme to have other parts of the car match that black hood. i guess with this scheme i have a lot of thinking to do thanks

 

if you go to www.teamfc3s.org and check out case (i hope you dun mind me using your car as an example) he has a pic of his car but its under a thread called something like "my best pics" or something where cops handcuff him . but anyways i got the idea from his car . i personally think it looks awesome but thats my opinion

 

i had my car like that when i got my aluminum hood and it was white for like 1-2 months alot of people liked it because it matched my white rims, but to me it looked to tachy, and i like the all black body better. it looks alright but i would go all black.

 

that's the funniest thing i've ever heard. if i wanted it to be a carbon fiber hood, i'd have gotten one. you might want to retract that statement about me being a ricer. there's nothing i hate more. i simply like the "panda FC" look. as does every other RX-7 owner in vegas.

ricers typically don't have any driving skill. i'm the fastest there is on the mountain here... and no, i'm not some initial d fanatic. you take a trip to the mountain, and there's no joke about it, you can't be fast unless you've got some real skill. i've beaten a 320rwhp TII and 220rwhp 10th AE with ease... don't talk **** about something you don't know. of course, if you think i'm bullshitting, feel free to head over here to vegas (or you could ask anyone in the Vegas thread as well as "Mazpower" on the teamfc3s.org forum). i'll be happy to go slow enough to pop a few flames in your face before leaving you behind.

 

i just read that you're in Cali. maybe sometime when i head back home to san bernadino, you can meet me over at Mt. Baldy. we could settle this there.

The Panda look, White and black two tone with the hood the same color as the upper body, has nothing to do with the Tureno (Japanese version of the Toyota Corolla Coupe) other than the Corolla GT-S/Tureno Apex were available with the black/white paint combo as a factory color option.

The hood painted black on a FC or a AE is not part of the true Panda color scheme, and just looks like you are too cheap to paint the hood you got from a junkyard.

 

What he really should see are some pictures of a Halsmersport GTO. Now I KNOW you've got some stashed away in your collection, right Mark?

case: dude, for your site, s5 n/a has 160hp, s5 t2 has 200. dont know where the hell you got 212 from, must be playing GT3 a lil too much
and FD went through to 2002, engine isn't 13BT-REW. its just 13B-REW, the W stands for twin turbo weirdly enough, althought he 13B-RE is also a twin turbo (came on jap luxury car).
and the 96+ RX-7s had more, well most. some still had 255, at most they had 280BHP, which is erm, something silly like 278 or i forget.

 

I've always felt that way, and again, it's your car do what you think it's cool.

Your car is a reflection of you. If you are slob, you'll see coke cans and burger wrappers all over, if you are meticulous (spell) you don't even let people eat in the car or touching outside period.

Just all depends.

 

Not bad, but stock look is a little better in my opinion.

 

I dunno, the panda look reminds me too much if Initial D. However, the black hood thing you were referring to on the AE86 (a la Super Shigeno version on GT3 Aspec) uses a carbon fiber hood and I think carbon fiber headlight covers.
Now, if you had white with black trim and black bumpers (the true panda look would be really difficult to pull off on an FC due to the shape) without the carbon fiber stuff, that's cool. Anything that you like, I can appreciate. If you have the carbon fiber hood too, kudos to you, you just saved a good bit of weight. I personally am a fan of the panda look, but I do prefer it on my AE86.

Ever see those classic muscle cars? Painted body colour with black hoods? I suppose those lumpy V8 powered cars were rice too, trying to imitate carbon fibre hoods.

 

i never expected to get into the ricing business lol i new that the carbon fiber wannabe comment would be made but either then that... damn so many different point of views on a color scheme lol. you guys have great points and everyone i believe has the rite to say wat they want to say. I for one find the scheme unique since most people do have one color cars i prefer to have one stand out. but with this scheme i believe i have to do more then paint the hood black. anyways enough about my thoughts on the color scheme thanks everyone for there help, i ran this poll since i am painting my car anyways peace
