I need a tranny QUICK!!!

1st gear crapped out on me today!!!! I can't go more than 10 mph in 1st without the rattling sound becoming painfully loud! I either have to start out in 2nd, or shift into 2nd after reaching 5-10 mph. If anyone has a tranny for sale, PLEASE email me! It needs to be 5-speed manual, made for N/A, fit an 87, and be in good shape.

Email mojoewinkie@hotmail.com

Thanks guys!

I sent you an additional PM asking about your whole tranny also. Which would also result in me getting that REVERSE switch :P

How many miles are on it?

It's manual, right?

Does it make any noise in any gears?

Were the reverse lights working before it was pulled?

I have a tranny out of a wrecked 86 N/A that I'll let go for a case or two of good beer. I have been tripping over it in my garage for far to long. I am a few hours north of you.

NWACO: How many miles does it have? Is it in good shape? Does it make any noise in any gears? And does the reverse switch work?

MoJoe, Sorry, I do not know its operating condition, I got the car free, parted it out, and it had 186,000 miles. I've never had it in a working car, and I kept it around for a spare. I figured I would cross that bridge when I came to it. Now I have it and a TII tranny, and I figure since I have two TII's and if I am going to need a spare tranny, I would choose the TII tranny so I would just as soon let it go and get the space. I am in Lake Stevens, WA. A man can only stockpile so many parts.

Nwaco: How does the tranny look on the outside? Is there any visual indication that it was in a wreck?

Soul assassin: Come on, just tell me what an HKS is. How will I ever know if no one tell me? Everyone who knows had to be told by someone at first at SOME point. And what's this about money? You said I could HAVE it

MoJo, It is in fine physical condition, no obvious breaks, cracks, dents or damage. It even still has the original coating of protective dirty oil. News Flash!! I just talked with a buddy who just happens to be going to Oregon next week for a soccer game, and he is willing to deliver the unit to a meeting place for his own case of quality Portland, Oregon microbrew as well. Let me know what you want to do.

That's cool, but I actually happen to have a brand new full set of all shifter bushings and boots from Mazdatrix that I'm going to install with the new tranny. I'm currently working on a deal with someone where it seriously looks like I'm going to find my new tranny if we can find shipping for a good enough price. His has less than 50,000 miles on it and is in perfect shape.

Nwaco: Sorry!!! I didn't even see your posting before I put that up! that's cool, I'll keep it in mind if the deal I mentioned above doesn't work out. But I hope it does, because as I'm sure you can imagine, I'd rather have one that's in known good condition with low miles on it rather than one with known high mileage and unknown condition. How much would you ask for that tranny?

MoJo, Like I said, a case of beer for me, and a case of beer for the transportation Dept. I figure thats about $45 - $50. Not bad for a delivered spare transmission. Hell, shipping of a tranny alone is going to cost $100 or so commercially. I too would opt for a newer model if given the option. I just read your thread and have a tranny to let go so I tossed it on the table as an option for you. If anyone else wants it, It is available.
