I need some more info on putting an S5 motor in an S4.

sorry, I know this has been covered a bazillion times, but I can't find anything I need to know using the search function. so I'll need to ask.

well, I need a new motor for my 87' TII, and Jspecs are all I can afford. but also, S4 jspecs are pretty hard to find. so... what do I need to do to make a S5 motor work in my S4?

I was thinking, keep the S5 flywheel, but use a S4 clutch. swap all the S4 manifolds and wiring harness.... basically everything from the S4 motor, except the turbo and exhaust manifold (since the S5 is better, and my S4 is cracked anyway) onto the S5 shortblock.

but then, what do I do about the oil pump? can I just block it off and premix, with no worries for daily driving or anything (and how much to mix?), or, is it easy to wire up?

is there anything else I'd need to swap? (and I can't afford any sort of standalone EMS. so that's out of the question.

I hope you guys can help me, so I can soon rejoin the RX7 community. its been a while since I've been on here.

okay, well, that helped a bit, but I'm still a little confused about the omp. do I need to swap on the S4 OMP, and teh S4 front cover? can I leave all that as is on the S5 block, and just premix? or can I hook up the S5 OMP?

is there any way to get around removing the front cover, without risking engine damage, or any problems?

thanks

did you also change the OMP with the front cover? or just the front cover, and left the S5 OMP?

I'm soooo confused now. I've got more info, but its not coming together very well.

Follow these instructions...also, If you plan to run premix, just leave the S5 front cover on and leave the MOP. If you don't like it that way, then remove the MOP and make a block-off plate.
