Question I need some help with exhaust

Could someone help me with the exhaust for an 86 gxl na , of course, but i bought a muffler , 3 in. with a silencer, for the sound pretty much but i dont have **** for that chinky sound does ne one know what makes a chinky sound?

please help with this i dont wanna waste any more money like i did

its driving me crazy
